With more than 15 years of experience in the mortgage, banking and securities industries, John Daugherty currently serves as the Senior Vice President for Ginnie Mae’s Office of Securities Operations. In this role, he is responsible for directing and overseeing Ginnie Mae’s day-to-day back office operations, which involves actively managing Ginnie Mae’s $1.5 trillion portfolio and more than $400 billion in annual issuance. In addition, he works closely with the Offices of Issuer & Portfolio Management, Capital Markets and Enterprise Risk in defining and implementing new business processes that are needed to deliver new Ginnie Mae securitization products to its business partners.
Mr. Daugherty is responsible for the administration of Ginnie Mae’s mortgage-backed securities (MBS) programs. In this capacity he manages all aspects of its securitization platform from MBS issuance to investor reporting to payment and disclosure. This includes 450,000 (+) MBS Securities, 9.6 million loans and all related systems that support the platform. Under Mr. Daugherty’s leadership, Ginnie Mae has embarked on a multi-year modernization initiative designed to bring forward Ginnie Mae’s infrastructure, technologies, and business processes, as well as, manage the sharp increase in volume and Issuers. Mr. Daugherty has also been overseeing the effort to improve the efficiency and transparency of the data disclosures of the mortgage loans backing Ginnie Mae securities.
Prior to joining Ginnie Mae, Mr. Daugherty served as senior director at Freddie Mac for eleven years.
Mr. Daugherty received his Degree in Economics from the University of Notre Dame. Upon completion of his studies at Notre Dame, Mr. Daugherty served as a decorated combat arms officer in the United States Army.
